Céad mile fàilte! These summer programs are based in beautiful Dublin. Designed for all students interested in studying in Ireland, our programs offer courses that will earn students credits towards their general education requirements. Students stay with host families for a full, cultural immersion experience.

Participants may choose one of two options.

In the first option, students will be placed fulltime with an Irish organization based on their academic area of study.

The second option combines a part time internship with coursework

Option 1: Internship

Runs all year round
Job Placement

In this 8 week program, students are placed with an Irish company for 32 hours per week (Monday-Thursday) for a total of 256 hours and an equivalent of 6 credit hours. All of our internships are personalized to your needs and are unpaid. Classport can extend an internship if more hours are required, We provide internship opportunities in specific areas of study such as

  • Journalism and Media
  • Film production and post production
  • Communications
  • Legal studies
  • Event management and planning
  • Sports management and exercise training
  • Pharmaceutical laboratories
  • Account and Finance
  • Business administration
  • Museum studies
  • Early childhood development
  • Social service and social work
Host Families

Students are matched to a specific Irish family who welcome them into their home in Dublin. Families live in the South County Dublin area with convenient access to Dublin’s public transportation system. Staying with a specially selected Irish family allows students to have their independence while being in a supportive environment, with breakfast and dinners provided.

 

Excursions

Dublin Castle, Kilmanhaim Gaol, Trinity College, and the GAA museum are just some of the many Dublin sites included in the program. Visits to these sites are incorporated into the relevant courses, providing onsite learning opportunities for students. Also included is a weekend excursion providing students with a visit to other parts of Ireland, and participation in a range of Irish Cultural activities

Option 2: Part time internship with academic course

Combine Work+Study

Classport provides a unique opportunity that allows students to complete a part time internship and take one of the academic courses available in the summer study abroad program. All of our internships are personalized to your needs and are unpaid.

Students attend a weekly seminar class. The course addresses issues related to cultural differences, work expectations, international business relationships and strategies for securing employment post-graduation.

Sample schedule

Saturday: Arrive into Dublin airport, met by Classport representative and taken to meet host family

Sunday: Orientation to Dublin and South Country Dublin

Monday: Full day on site academic orientation

Tuesday: Work placement

Wednesday:Work placement

Thursday:Work placement

Friday: Group excursion to specific sites in and around Dublin Class

During the 8 weeks, we will plan two weekends where you will travel out of Dublin to different parts of Ireland
